Transitional Coaching

“It isn’t the changes that do you in, it’s the transitions. They aren’t the same thing. Change is situational: the move to a new site, the retirement of the founder, the reorganization of the roles on the team, the revisions to the pension plan. Transition, on the other hand, is psychological; it is a three-phase process that people go through as they internalise and come to terms with the details of the new situation that the change brings about. William Bridges from “Transitions”

Our Offer
  • We work with leaders at both an individual and group level when they experience transition: to help ensure that the anticipated change is realised, as opposed to the ‘deckchairs just being rearranged'. This can occur when managers move to leadership positions; when leaders are promoted to new roles; when groups shift; when organisational change results in cultural transition; when new boards form.
  • Ideally we work before, during and after the transition occurs: on a regular basis, either monthly or more frequently
Potential Outcomes:
  • A plan for managing the short term transition: the letting go and identification of the challenges in moving into the less known
  • A plan for the journey to the future role or future state
  • Recognition of the impact the change/ambiguity and uncertainty has both on themselves and on their teams
  • Develop clear plans to communicate future visions and align people to the new ‘order’
  • Create strategies for engagement and commitment to ensure they inspire others to follow them in their new roles/function.
