Diagnostic Tools

We believe that the more aware you are of who you are, how others see you, the choices you make, and the consequences of those choices, the more effectively you can lead and have the impact you want. Successful leadership is about what you do with yourself and how you choose to bring yourself to your leadership role. We believe that developing a depth of understanding about yourself will bring these greater insights and choices.

Using diagnostic tools can support you in this. One of most effective diagnostic is the 1:1 conversations we have with you. However there are also a range of tools and questionnaires we use to support us in this.

  • We find The Myers-Briggs Personality Type Indicator (MBTI) enormously helpful in appreciating differences. It s a self-inventory designed to identify and then allow a person to explore their personality type, strengths, and preferences. The questionnaire was developed by Isabel Myers and her mother Katherine Briggs based on their work with Carl Jung's theory of personality types. No one personality type is "best" or "better" than any other one, it’s goal is simply to help you learn more about yourself and your team and how you can work more effectively.
  • Strengths Finder is a well know tool that measures talent, it was developed through research carried out by Gallup and is an on-line self-assessment. Data from both Positive Organisational Psychology and the business environment makes a powerful case for strengths. Evidence suggests that people who use their strengths more:
    • Are happier, more confident and have higher levels of self-esteem
    • Have higher levels of energy and vitality, experience less stress and are more resilient
    • Perform better at work and are more likely to achieve their goals
    • Are more engaged at work
    • Are more effective at developing themselves and growing as individuals

We work with your strengths finder results to enable you to discover and develop your natural talents to develop them (through practice) to become “ a lot more of who you already are”

  • We are also qualified to administer the Saville Wave psychometric tool which is arguably the most powerful psychometric to predict potential and performance. The Wave Professional styles instrument measure motives, talents, preferred culture and competency profile in on-line questionnaire. What we particularly value in this tool is its future focus – the prediction of both potential and performance, this can be a powerful diagnostic for teams in establishing the journey and setting the future path.
  • Leaders often speak about the challenge of teams/ groups of people communicating well in multi agenda, busy and fast changing environment. Understanding both your patterns of communicating and those of your team and how to intervene constructively is an essential skill for any leader. Kantor’s Behavioural Propensity Profiling is an instrument that helps individuals and teams appreciate their style of dialogue: – their stances of communicating; and where those stance ‘come from’ i.e. the drivers that motivate what is said. We use either the formal questionnaire and/or a self -diagnostic version.
  • Realise 2 tool is useful in unlocking the performance potential of both individuals, team, and organisations through realising their strengths. This is an easily administered tool, taking just 20 minutes to complete and gives insights into strengths and weaknesses; distinguishes strengths from learned behaviours; provides a strengths language that enables sharing of strengths with others; and builds capability to use strengths to achieve goals.
